DATA STORYTELLING
COP Series
A series of climate data stories created for the European Commission’s central social media channels. The project translated climate targets, emissions data and environmental impacts into short visual narratives designed to be understood quickly, while remaining accurate and aligned with institutional communication.
My role covered research, narrative framing, data selection, visual concept and final design. Working from official and policy-relevant sources, I shaped each topic into a clear public-facing story and aligned the content with the relevant policy teams before publication.

COP 28
The world is not on track
This carousel focused on the gap between the EU’s climate progress and the wider global effort still needed to keep warming below 1.5°C.
The concept plays with the idea of being “on track” or “off track”: even the penguins appear to be drifting in the wrong direction. The umbrella echoes the upward temperature curve, turning the data into a simple visual metaphor for a complex climate target.
COP 28
From melting to flooding
This carousel focused on the urgency of climate action after record-breaking temperatures and the temporary crossing of the 2°C threshold above pre-industrial levels.
The narrative moves from rising temperatures to visible consequences: melting habitats, rising sea levels, flooding and the need to reduce emissions. The bear conveys instability and exposure — a sense of having nowhere safe to settle — without turning the carousel into a technical chart.
